On to the next week
This week was nothing short of chaotic. From lessons not going how I planned, to at the end of the week me ending up sick, I will definitely rate this week as a 2. It was a productive week, and the students got ample opportunities and time to understand the different concepts but, I can definitely say I'm ready for next week to get here!
This week we were supposed to end it by doing a project, but I noticed during the different lessons that I was teaching that some of the students did not understand the materials so it took some extra days to go back over it and make sure every student got it. But, this coming week I think that the students are more confident and we will hopefully get to the project by the end of this week and they are so excited about it!
This week was really hectic with being out for 2 days because of a virus, missing edTPA boot camp day, and being so unmotivated to do anything because of my sickness that I have gotten so behind! I am so behind in work, it's ridiculous. But, I am trying my hardest this week to get back on top of work and get back ahead.
My goal for this week is to complete all my commentaries for edTPA and have it ready to submit! This week I could have definitely used my time more wisely and worked on my edTPA commentaries, but this next week I am definitely buckling down and going to complete everything.
I exhibited Standard 1b, teachers demonstrate leadership in the school. This week I was able to collaborate with all my colleagues on the "newest idea" of bringing iPads into the school systems. The county is trying to decide whether to get rid of the MacBooks for students and give all the students and teachers and iPad. We were able to give our thoughts and feedback on whether or not we think the MacBooks should be replaced with iPads in the coming years.
I also exhibited Standard 2a, because of the current event that happened in Florida this week my students were asking so many questions about what happens if the same situation happens in our schools. I was able to answer every question that they had and reassure them that our school has an action plan we have to follow if we are ever put in that situation. They were definitely on edge this week since that happened in a school, but their minds have been eased over the past couple of days when my CE and I were able to answer their questions and assured them that everything would be okay.
I exhibited Standard 3a, teachers align their instruction with the NCSCOS. As I planned out my lessons for next week I align each one of them with a NCSCOS.
I exhibited Standard 4b, teachers plan instruction appropriate for their students. I was able to collaborate with my CE and develop lesson plans that we believe would benefit our students in the end. This is very helpful when it comes to planning appropriate instruction for our students.
Lastly, I exhibited Standard 5a, teachers analyze student learning. I was able to do this by reflecting on my
lessons daily, and adjusting them to accommodate to my students.

Alana, I hate you got sick. I have been blessed so far and haven't ended up sick (knock on wood), although I don't know how because so many of my students have been sick! I think we are all starting to hit that slow, uphill climb and losing our momentum and motivation...especially with edTPA constantly lurking in our minds. However, I know we can do it! Good luck this week! See you Thursday when we can finally celebrate making it through edTPA.
