On to the next week

This week was nothing short of chaotic. From lessons not going how I planned, to at the end of the week me ending up sick, I will definitely rate this week as a 2. It was a productive week, and the students got ample opportunities and time to understand the different concepts but, I can definitely say I'm ready for next week to get here! This week we were supposed to end it by doing a project, but I noticed during the different lessons that I was teaching that some of the students did not understand the materials so it took some extra days to go back over it and make sure every student got it. But, this coming week I think that the students are more confident and we will hopefully get to the project by the end of this week and they are so excited about it! This week was really hectic with being out for 2 days because of a virus, missing edTPA boot camp day, and being so unmotivated to do anything because of my sickness that I have gotten so behind! I am so behind in work, it...

Week 3 has come and gone already...

I can't believe week 3 has already come and gone! I feel like we just started this whole student teaching process and to think we are already going into week 4 is CRAZY!! I would rate this week a 3, with edTPA, fire drills, hectic schedules, and some behavior problems in my classroom....there were definitely some roadblocks that had to be crossed, but praise God we got through the week! This week was great! Besides some of my students having some behavior problems, the students did so well with the different concepts that they learned this week! With my first 2 classes really impressed me as we were working with Triangles and Quadrilaterals. This is the last Module that they will complete before diving into 8th grade material and they are doing great with it! This week we had a PD with the Discovery Place Educational Studio. The Discovery Place Educational Study came out about 4 months prior and they picked up right where they left off in October. My short term goal for this we...

Week 2!!!

Oh my goodness...I can't believe I've just finished my second week of full time student teaching! Stepping into this full time experience has really opened my eyes to so many different things, and it just keeps getting better everyday. But, everything has its bad times right? Needless to say, I have not been this tired in my whole life. Teaching definitely takes a lot out of you, but it's all worth it in the end. I would rate my overall week as a 4, because I still have some areas to work on but I feel like I'm slowly but surely acclimating to the "teacher life." This week started off as a weird week where my CE was out of town for a BETA trip on Monday and Tuesday, so they decided just to leave me in the classroom without a sub. Needless to say, those two days were definitely eye opening. Since most of the 7th grade students were gone on the BETA trip, we just combined the kids that we have into 2 classes so I got an extra planning period (whoop whoop!) I w...

Omg...I'm exhausted...

First full week of student teaching all 3 classes and there's only 1 word to describe it... EXHAUSTED!!! I can barely hold my eyes open long enough to write this post haha. But, other than it being one of the hardest and most stressful weeks...the days flew by and it's finally the weekend.  I would rate this week a 3.5 out of 5, only because trying to get used to everything and being the "head of the class," hectic schedules, weekly meetings, and students being out because of sickness it takes a lot of getting used to. Honestly, I would say the students adjusted so well to me stepping into the full time teaching role and I also have a great support team surrounding me at the school. One of the things that I struggled with this week was staying on top of my work...I had so much on my plate and so much to do to get ready for lessons, think about planning next week lessons, and think about edTPA week I've definitely been slacking. I met with my CE and we were able ...
